RJD Dr. Madhusudhana Varma Conducts Key Review on Higher Education Standards and Admission Growth

High-Level Meeting with Principals of Government Degree Colleges of Kurnool and Nandyal Districts

Kurnool: Aiming at enhancing academic standards in higher education, student development, and boosting admissions in government degree colleges, an important review meeting was held on 23rd June 2026 afternoon at the identified college in the combined district, KVR College. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Madhusudhana Varma, Regional Joint Director (RJD) of the Directorate of Higher Education, Kadapa Region. Principals of government degree colleges from Kurnool and Nandyal districts actively participated in this session.

On this occasion, the RJD issued several key suggestions and directives to strengthen the educational institutions and effectively shape the future of the students.

Key Highlights and Directives from the Meeting:

• Boosting Admissions via Door-to-Door Campaigns: Directives were issued to significantly improve college admissions. For this, a dedicated 'Help Desk' must be set up in every institution. He suggested organizing proactive 'Door-to-Door Campaigns' to attract prospective students.
• Employability Skills & Job-Oriented Courses: He stated that students should either be encouraged toward higher education or provided with adequate employability skills. He made it clear that new 'Job-Oriented Courses' aligned with current market demands should be introduced immediately.
• Mandatory English & IT Skills: The RJD advised principals to pay special attention to ensuring every student develops mandatory English communication skills and IT proficiency to thrive in the competitive job market.
• Physical Education & Certificate Courses: Emphasizing the importance of physical fitness and sports, he ordered the launch of new certificate courses in physical education and other diverse disciplines.
• Commencement of PG Coaching: To help degree students secure seats in top-tier universities, he specified that postgraduate (PG) entrance exam coaching should be started within the college campuses.

The program concluded with the principals of the government degree colleges from Kurnool and Nandyal districts resolving to strictly implement the guidelines and frameworks suggested by the RJD in their respective colleges to ensure a brighter future for the students.
